I just enrolled to Penn foster in the…

I just enrolled to Penn foster in the “sterile processing technician” course! Btw I’m already use to learning by myself as I already have an Associates in criminal justice from my local community college but decided to completely switch my major! So far everything is as expected for me. I’m just alittle displeased as I have not received my textbook yet but it has only been a week since I enrolled and my first payment isn’t due until the 14th which I am thinking that’s when they will send it! The thing I dislike is when I have a question and I post in the discussion board, I get no response. I also can’t set up a 15min 1 on 1 with my teacher which they give you an option for. . Not sure what’s going on there? Everything is as stated online with penn foster. It’s go at your own pace. My advice would be too start early looking for externships if you have to do hands on hours. As I stated, I just started my course and I’m already getting places lined up. I would say if your thinking about enrolling you should! They have a 7 day money back if your not pleased with the program. I was also feeling iffy about the program but just decided to take a leap of faith.

problems finding anyone to accept Penn Foster student

Walmart payed for my Pharm Tech program. Its pretty basic read the text books, memorize a ton of facts do the quiz at the end, video yourself doing some hands on labs, I did not feel prepared for the PTCB at all. At the end you have to do a 160 hr externship in a pharmacy, but I got laid off and Walmart would no longer do it. they said I could go to a Kroger, or a Walgreens but the nearest one to me was 43 miles away, and no local pharmacy would even consider it.
I don't suppose that is their fault but I'm glad I did not pay for this program. I think I will just get my certification at the local community collage.

Terrible wast of time and money

Terrible wast of time and money. NO ASSISTANCE, it’s cheap but you get what you pay for. They are selling you the hope that you can get a degree, this is completely false because you can’t complete college without any assistance. The online course material is basic and minimal, not enough information provided to learn the course. Stay away from Penn Foster it’s a scam.

I had a great experience

I had a great experience. Phone contacts were helpful. I completed the PT Aide program. It helped with my profession as a personal trainer. It's a correspondence course but taught me a lot and helped me with getting employment. The purpose was served.

DO NOT sign up for this school

DO NOT sign up for this school. I have paid for my course, in full. I called to ask that the remaining materials be sent to me. I was refused to receive the materials I paid for. Shortly before my account was paid in full, I called to find out what happens to the remaining materials and I was told to call and request that they be sent to me. When I called and requested these items AFTER I was paid in full, I was told that they refuse to send them to me. Materials I paid for, they are refusing to send to me. Not sure how that is even legal. I asked for a portion of my payment returned to me ( the cost of the materials ) and I was refused again. Do not sign up for this school. You will be extremely disappointed. And if you do, get everything they promise in a contract. I will be reporting them to the BBB.

Penn Foster is a scam

This school is a scam. Read the proof. This is their words. Read their admission. Now people know the complaints are facts.
Yes the program was changed and NO NEW MATERIAL WAS PROVIDED which it is a set up to cause students to fail.
Thank you Penn Foster for proving proof and please don't reply with a stupid comment.
DO NOT SIGN UP. RUN....

I wanted to reach out to you as I was advised that you had some concerns with your program. Due to a recent update with QuickBooks, your program has been modified. All of the information has been provided to you. The contract that your signed, stated the Penn Foster reserved the right to update or substitute content or component as appropriate. This includes the modifications to your current program.

This isn't a legitimate college--don't waste your money. This is not like going to Sacramento state or any other Junior college, they can frame it how they'd like, it doesn't change the fact that they aren't a Regionally accredited institution. Many employers look down on a diploma from Regionally accredited colleges. I would invest in junior college, so that you can actually transfer to a Regionally accredited university. It's much more worth your time and money, you may also yet financial aid. Look at how they're framing it, there's no guarantee bla bla bla, that you'll be able to transfer credits .. umm. Yes, there is a high probability that you'll transfer from a JC to a Regionally accredited University, NOT FROM PENN Foster though. Maybe transfer to one other choice that may be Regionally accredited and very expensive, I've see it. And you can't get in.

Don't waste your time!

Signed up in July for classes. Paid up front. It has been almost 2 months now and I haven't heard anything from them. Today, I received a bill in the mail saying I owed over $800 for these classes I already paid for. I called them and the man I spoke to said it made no sense and apparently I never paid (even though I have a bank statement where they took the money out). I explained everything again and he said he was transferring me and hung up the phone. I now have an attorney to get my money back. DO NOT do business with this trashy "school."
